我从 11 年级的春假开始请孙老师帮我补习化学。当时我对补习老师的印象普遍是比较差的，因为在我的经历中大部分补习老师除了重复课中学的内容和监督完成练习以外，并没有太大的用处，可孙老师改变了我的偏见。
孙老师对于 IB 化学的深刻理解，深入浅出的教学方法，卓越的沟通技巧，以及丰富的个人经验，都是补习老师中非常稀有的。她的教学方法没有枯燥的照本宣科，也少有无意义的重复练习，而更多是确定学生能够融会贯通，举一反三，保证这些宝贵的知识不会在他们需要的时候被遗忘。这种厚积薄发的教学理念不仅仅会帮助学生们顺利的通过高中课程，也会为艰难的大学课程做好充分的准备。
我在孙老师一年多的的指导下获益良多，最终化学分数从最开始的 5 分提高到了满分 7 分。在所有 IB 化学老师当中，选择孙老师必定是最正确的。

Mrs. Sun helped tutor me in grade 12 IB chemistry. She is a wonderful teacher! Chemistry was my hardest subject and she helped me improve a lot. My mark went up from a 4 to a 6. Mrs. Sun is able to use simple and fun metaphors to explain complicated concepts. It also made the lessons more interesting. In particular I would like to thank her for reviewing past exam problems with me before my IB finale. They helped me on the tests a lot. If you're looking for a tutor I highly recommend Mrs. Sun!

I still vividly remember my first lesson with Ms. Sun. I came to her feeling confused and defeated by chemistry, but I left that day wanting to learn more. I think this perfectly demonstrates what an amazing teacher Ms. Sun is. She has a firm grasp of the content and can explain complex concepts succinctly using simple terms. Most importantly, she taught me how to learn instead of simply memorizing and regurgitating information from my textbook.
Needless to say, Ms. Sun is skilled at teaching, but what sets her apart is her passion for the subject. She once jokingly said that many of her students seem to end up in chemistry related fields. While it’s probably true we took chemistry for this exact reason, I would still like to think she contributed to this “phenomena”. All the stories she tells about chemistry made me want to experience those moments firsthand in the future. Thanks to her, chemistry became fascinating to me; a big difference from my first impression of the subject.
My deepest gratitude to Ms. Sun who has become my mentor over the past two years. Her expertise and wisdom extends beyond the realm of chemistry and I will forever remember her lessons.

Ms. Sun has been a tremendous help in the past two years. When I came to my first class, I was still in SL Chemistry. With her support, I was confident enough to start studying HL material and soon, I was getting high marks on tests.
She always encouraged me to solve the harder questions and never berated me when I couldn’t understand the complex solutions. Ms. Sun has millions of interesting stories about her life, and she uses them to support her lessons on different Chemistry topics. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the stories of using naphthalene to kill moths, the accidental fire in the lab, her grand adventures during road trips, or even the SiO2 she showed me. She knows just the right way to explain concepts—simplifying them to make them memorable.
She not only helped me succeed in Chemistry but also gave me plenty of advice and encouragement in other areas of life. She helped me add a more creative touch to my Personal Statement, gave me advice on applying to university, and helped me through the two stressful years of the IB DP program.
Ms. Sun is so friendly and approachable, and I’m glad to have had her as my teacher.

【孙老师的话】Emily是个聪明豁达的孩子，也很善解人意。我很喜欢她的真性情和常常冒出来的小小的幽默感。记得十一年级期末考试结束那天我们开始放假，在机场候机时我接到Emily的电话，她告诉我期末化学考了7分，那简直就是在欢呼的动静。SAT化学考试刚结束，她给我留言，告诉我她至少答对了一道题，那就是石英的化学成分是二氧化硅，因为她记得我给她看的石英标本。看到她的留言，我禁不住莞尔。考前她的状态原本不是很理想，但面对不断犯错的打击，能沉得住气，极有韧性地做着练习，不断矫正频发的错误。应试时情绪稳定，发挥出最好水平，最终SAT化学得到了800分。小丫头很有些大将风度，我想她会因为这一特质受益终生的。

Studying with Mr. Wang has allowed me to look at problems from outside the box, I was constantly able to stay on top of DP math and excel in each unit. I have been with Mr. Wang for around 3 years now, I started doing math and physics with him for my school, and it has been very helpful through out my high school years, because of the fact that the course gets very hard, and he was able to help me with both math and physics by teaching me easier steps and ways to solve questions that seemed harder, which helped me a lot, because I was not really good at those 2 subjects. I am very thankful for his help, and I think that without it, I would not have achieved the marks I have for math and physics. A simple thank you cannot adequately express my gratitude for Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun. Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun were much more than what I needed to fulfill my educational needs. They gave me access to various resources for free that was not available at school. A school teacher cannot manage over 30 students at a time; therefore, I lacked the particular help which I needed with my courses. The one-on-one tutoring made sure I was always the centre of attention when asking questions about the subject. Although their job is tutoring, they went over the top with their mentoring as well. Often, Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun would realize my poor studying and learning habits and take his own time to find a solution. They are not teachers who are limited to teaching. They genuinely cared about me as well as my educational goals. Thanks to their passion and determination while tutoring me, I was accepted to study Mathematical and Physical Sciences within the Faculty of Science at the University of Toronto. On top of that, I received offers for Computing Science at SFU and BSC Computing Science Honours at the University of Alberta.

In math, Mr. Wang is a great great teacher that guided me along with DP. He has found different websites and different papers for me to practice and found my mistakes through the practices. Mr. Wang's class is very relaxing and interesting. He can have different ways for me to absorb new knowledge and master them quickly. After I did a problem, he can always show me other ways of doing it, which really opens a new door for me. So, I also want to say a big thank you to Mr. Wang for his responsible and patience.
Lastly, I really appreciate that I meet Ms. Sun and Mr. Wang in my high school year. Their positive values and uplifting attitude really affect me a lot! In their class, I must say that I learnt a lot, both academically and life-benefiting.

I really appreciate all your help throughout my IB Diploma journey. Math has always been one of my weaker subjects at school. However, with your help, I successfully achieved a mark that I’m satisfied with. Most importantly, with the improve in math, I’m able to achieve the requirements needed for attending my dream program at UBC.
Two hours each week really helped improve my problem solving skills in math. You always encouraged me to solve harder problems, which benefited me a lot when taking my final exam. Whenever I’m stuck on the challenging questions, you would first let me try my best to solve it myself, instead of telling me right away. Then, you would give me little hints that will lead me to the correct answer. By doing this, it really challenged me to work by myself to solve a problem under an exam mode first. Therefore, it really benefited me when taking my mock and final exams.
At last, I would like to thank him again for all your help and I’m really glad you was my math tutor throughout DP!

I still vividly remember my first lesson with Ms. Sun. I came to her feeling confused and defeated by chemistry, but I left that day wanting to learn more. I think this perfectly demonstrates what an amazing teacher Ms. Sun is. She has a firm grasp of the content and can explain complex concepts succinctly using simple terms. Most importantly, she taught me how to learn instead of simply memorizing and regurgitating information from my textbook.
Needless to say, Ms. Sun is skilled at teaching, but what sets her apart is her passion for the subject. She once jokingly said that many of her students seem to end up in chemistry related fields. While it’s probably true we took chemistry for this exact reason, I would still like to think she contributed to this “phenomena”. Ms. Sun has been a tremendous help in the past two years. When I came to my first class, I was still in SL Chemistry. With her support, I was confident enough to start studying HL material and soon, I was getting high marks on tests.
She always encouraged me to solve the harder questions and never berated me when I couldn’t understand the complex solutions. Ms. Sun has millions of interesting stories about her life, and she uses them to support her lessons on different Chemistry topics. Studying with Mr. Wang has allowed me to look at problems from outside the box, I was constantly able to stay on top of DP math and excel in each unit. I have been with Mr. Wang for around 3 years now, I started doing math and physics with him for my school, and it has been very helpful through out my high school years, because of the fact that the course gets very hard, and he was able to help me with both math and physics by teaching me easier steps and ways to solve questions that seemed harder, which helped me a lot, because I was not really good at those 2 subjects. I am very thankful for his help, and I think that without it, I would not have achieved the marks I have for math and physics. 在跟王老师上课的期间，我唯一有一点不适应的就是由于我学的知识点太过于基础，而王老师给到的练习题有些是AP课或者IB课的难度，有时候我很多题做不出来，让我产生我没有充分消化知识点的错觉，但是到了考试的时候题很简单，我有时会担心是不是做的时候有漏点。除此之外我真的觉得王老师的课是我上过最好的课外课之一，在加拿大这个没有补课的大环境里能找到可以中英双语授课的老师已经是非常不容易了，而老师又是非常适合我的。王老师上课的氛围非常轻松愉快，他总是能够第一时间帮我答疑，让我有大量的练习题可以做。我还要感谢孙老师总能够在我最需要的时候帮我安排加课，王老师也是哪怕上了一天的课已经很累了，也会为我作考试前的答疑，真是非常感谢两位老师。

The time I had with Ms. Sun was as fun as classes could be, I am personally very interested in chemistry, which is why I’m excited to learn new things everyday. Ms. Sun teaches the information in a fun and detailed way, and most of all, really easy to understand. Whenever I don’t understand something, I know that all I have to do is ask, and she’ll have the answer to my question. 在跟王老师上课的期间，我唯一有一点不适应的就是由于我学的知识点太过于基础，而王老师给到的练习题有些是AP课或者IB课的难度，有时候我很多题做不出来，让我产生我没有充分消化知识点的错觉，但是到了考试的时候题很简单，我有时会担心是不是做的时候有漏点。除此之外我真的觉得王老师的课是我上过最好的课外课之一，在加拿大这个没有补课的大环境里能找到可以中英双语授课的老师已经是非常不容易了，而老师又是非常适合我的。王老师上课的氛围非常轻松愉快，他总是能够第一时间帮我答疑，让我有大量的练习题可以做。我还要感谢孙老师总能够在我最需要的时候帮我安排加课，王老师也是哪怕上了一天的课已经很累了，也会为我作考试前的答疑，真是非常感谢两位老师。

I am a student of Ms. Sun, who has taught me IB Chemistry at the Higher Level. She has been a tutor who has completely changed me as a student. Ms. Sun did not only teach me how to enjoy learning Chemistry and be successful in the course, but she constantly gave me advice on
test taking strategies and on studying habits, all of which helped boost my confidence and aided me greatly in all courses as a student.
Initially, I struggled with Chemistry, in particular, with understanding basic concepts and also with regard to my attitude and the effort I was putting into the subject. At school, one does not learn nearly enough to thoroughly understand a subject, this was the case with me, and my

Starting from 2017, I have learned Chemistry with Ms. Sun for more than two years. I feel I have improved a lot over the two years in IBDP. At the beginning when we were selecting courses, I was hesitating between Physics and Chemistry. Starting from 2017, I have learned Chemistry with Ms. Sun for more than two years. I feel I have improved a lot over the two years in IBDP. At the beginning when we were selecting courses, I was hesitating between Physics and Chemistry. It was Ms. Sun who encouraged me to choose Chemistry and gave me a lot of supports throughout my entire DP life on Chem. With Ms. Sun’s help, my score has gone up from a 4 to a 6, and I’m still striving for a 7.
I learned not only the basic concepts of Chemistry from Ms. Sun, but also the way to effectively learn Chemistry.

Throughout the last two school years I have been under the guidance of both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun. They've both been a great help to me and have helped me successfully attain a good score within the programme.
In Grade 11, I encountered great struggle in both chemistry and mathematics; in chemistry I was not used to the teachers lesson structure and in mathematics I was having difficulty comprehending the understandings. Solely through the weekly 2-hour lessons with Ms. Sun. I was able to learn more than that of an entire week of classes within my school. Ms. Sun's teaching style is very versatile, and she is able to adapt between each student. Unlike many previous tutors I have had in the past, she is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) and can translate at will. She is familiar with all of the chemistry curriculum and is able to find examples throughout the book with a simple search. Finally, Ms. Sun was always able to end each lesson on a high note: it didn't matter whether I was noticeably tired or if I was very interactive during the lesson, she would always find a way to keep me interested in the subject and make me look forward to the next lesson.
Prior to grade 11, I did not have any trouble with mathematics. I did not need to study for any tests nor did I have to review notes from the lessons. However, when we began the math curriculum in grade 11, I never properly adjusted. I kept up my bad old habits and in turn received bad marks. Mr. Wang helped me thoroughly in mathematics, continuously finding me tricky questions in order to stimulate my thinking. He was able to break down different concepts into smaller portions so that I could understand everything. Overall, Mr. Wang is a wonderful teacher that has allowed me to drastically improve my math mark through constant help and understanding.
I would strongly recommend both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun to anyone looking for comprehensive well-rounded tutors. They are very experienced in background with regards to their respective fields and are very knowledgeable of most curricula. They not only provide good assistance during the class, but also provide many extra resources out of class that can be used to prepare for eventual exams.

Mr. Wang’s tutorials were none like any other tutorials I had experienced. Through two years of continuous lessons with him, I was able to get the help that I most certainly needed. Before I got into his classes, I struggled with math and which it also affected my physics. As for joining a highly competitively education program, IB definitely creates some significant hardships throughout my learning. Not just because the extreme quantity of courses that requires to be mastered, but also the difficulties and insightful critical thinking that creates a huge barrier for anyone that tries to become an academically intelligent student. Luckily, I have gradually improved my knowledge and learning skills with helps from Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun. It’s their help that “pushed” me to keep up with all of the courses. In my first class, I could still remember how we were able to learn the basics of grade 10 chemistry in only two hours (since I never understood anything in grade 10, I’ve once thought chemistry’s impossible to learn). What I think that’s the most important thing that I’ve learnt from Ms. Sun is not necessarily the knowledge, but more of the abilities to learn and inter-react with new ideas, which I think is more important in the long run. It’s not a simple course that we will be learning in the future, but all of the skills of life that requires a method to learn. Overall, I would strongly recommend students learning with Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun, as they don’t simply serve as a teacher but also great educators of life.

你有去多伦多大学的目标，很好，那么就要努力锻炼自己的自制力了，跟懒惰和诱惑去做斗争。踏下心来，一个专题一个专题地去理解，一个问题一个问题地去解决，去体会学习的方式方法。我体会你的心一直浮在半空中，极其不踏实，这是学习的大忌。要想办法让自己安静下来，我说的是心安静下。

From being lost in the IB Diploma curriculum, I have come a long way looking back at the student that refused any help from tutors thinking "I got this on my own." Ms. Sun and Mr. Wang are my Chemistry and Math tutor respectively, and their help over the span of a year for me has been no less than phenomenal. Evidently, my grades climbed up steadily with their help. I've had numerous tutors before, and the thing that separates most tutors from UNID tutors is the heartfelt vibe in a sense that makes me feel like they really want me to succeed as an individual. Mr. Wang was my math tutor for 3 years, and I am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn from him. Mr. Wang teaches in a way that makes math easier and fun to learn and understand. The way he explains concepts are precise and clear, yet detailed. As I was slowly introduced to Mr. Wang’s way of thinking in math along with his constant support and efforts, I became a better student. He taught me that learning and listening only goes so far and that self-determination and perseverance is what makes the difference. Since attending math lessons from Mr. Wang, my math marks have improved greatly. I have seen better and more consistent grades throughout my experience in IB Math SL. I started off with inconsistent grades of 3’s and 5’s (out of 7 total) but in my grade 12 year, I was predicted a final mark of 6, a mark I never thought I could achieve as I found math to be quite challenging and was struggling with lower marks all of grade 11. Although math was often a challenging course for me, Mr. Wang always took the time to explain concepts thoroughly and was continuously kind and patient.
I would highly recommend Mr. Wang as a math tutor and I would like to thank Mr. Wang so much for all the support and help throughout the years!

Before attending the lessons, I did not know how and where I could get better in Chemistry. I managed to establish all the knowledge in to a net, so I can find the useful connection between different bullet points and take good use of it. It helps me to solve the problem with more organized method and also remain in my mind for a longer duration. These methods allow me to have a better understanding of knowledge. I really appreciate the help from Mr.Wang and Mrs. Sun, their expertise in math, physic, chemistry and IB system is really helpful for my following studying. They can explain the question in a simple and understandable way, and point out the reason why you get the question wrong. They encourage me to do more questions, and instead of criticizing me for being lazy, they listed out the reason why it is necessary for us to do more practice afterwards. My IB mark for physic and chemistry all have an increase between 1-2 marks, and the steadiness of the knowledge is the best part of this tutoring session. Having a solid understanding of knowledge and being able to use it in the future is the best reward.

Ms. Sun can speak both English and Mandarin, therefore she is especially popular among international students from China. If you have studied with Ms. Sun for a while, you would notice that Ms. Sun not only teaches chemistry. One of the most important lessons I had learned from her is that no one is responsible to further my education in university except for myself. My exam results solely depend on how much effort I put in. I applied this idea to my study of unit 9: redox with minimal help from Ms. Sun, and I have scored an IB mark of 7. The reason? I had changed my mindset ever since Ms. Sun's lecture, and had learned to study independently. Pause and think about it. In university, the professors couldn't care less about me. And it is unrealistic to hire a tutor to help with university material, because nobody should rely on someone else's help for the rest of his or her life, whether in terms of academics or life in general. Keeping the principle of independent studying in mind, Ms. Sun had given me a head start to the study of biochemistry program in UBC.
I could not have hoped for a better chemistry tutor than Ms. Sun. So if you are ready to ace high school chemistry or to learn useful studying methods, don't hesitate to contact Ms. Sun.

I have had both Ms. Sun and Mr. Wang as my Chemistry and Physics/Pre-Calculus tutors, respectively, and they have helped me so much on my way towards better grade. Before I started going to UNID Tutors, I was frustrated and confused with the core concepts of each subject, struggling to grasp any understanding despite poring over my books and assignments every day. First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Sun for being such an outstanding chemistry tutor, as her knowledge and experience has helped me and hundreds of other students to succeed in the IB diploma program. Ms.Sun's tutoring style has always been my favorite. She tutors the materials based on students' individual needs, instead of teaching the same material to everyone. She cares about students' feelings, respects students' opinions, and is very open-minded. Ms. Sun can speak both English and Mandarin, therefore she is especially popular among international students from China. I would highly recommend the one and only Ms. Sun for your future success in chemistry studying.
If you have studied with Ms. Sun for a while, you would notice that Ms. Sun not only teaches chemistry. One of the most important lessons I had learned from her is that no one is responsible to further my education in university except for myself. My exam results solely depend on how much effort I put in. I applied this idea to my study of unit 9: redox with minimal help from Ms. Sun, and I have scored an IB mark of 7. The reason? I had changed my mindset ever since Ms. Sun's lecture, and had learned to study independently. Pause and think about it. In university, the professors couldn't care less about me. And it is unrealistic to hire a tutor to help with university material, because nobody should rely on someone else's help for the rest of his or her life, whether in terms of academics or life in general. Keeping the principle of independent studying in mind, Ms. Sun had given me a head start to the study of biochemistry program in UBC.
I could not have hoped for a better chemistry tutor than Ms. Sun. So if you are ready to ace high school chemistry or to learn useful studying methods, don't hesitate to contact Ms. Sun.

I have had both Ms. Sun and Mr. Wang as my Chemistry and Physics/Pre-Calculus tutors, respectively, and they have helped me so much on my way towards better grade. Before I started going to UNID Tutors, I was frustrated and confused with the core concepts of each subject, struggling to grasp any understanding despite poring over my books and assignments every day. With their help, my Pre-Calculus grades received a 15% increase, my Chemistry grades jumped by 10%, and Physics by 8%. Which, in turn have allowed me to raise my university admittance GPA. My name is Jonathan Hsu, I am a student in the IB Diploma, currently attending Meadowridge School. I have been accepted into the Science department at Western University and granted AEO status. I have also been accepted in the Business and Science co-op program at Waterloo University. My current IB score is 38/45 including bonus points, and I am at a 6/7 in both Math and Chemistry. My success in the IB Diploma program can be attributed to Mr. Wang, Mrs. Sun and of course, through hard work.
Ever since the beginning of Grade 11, I have been attending tutoring sessions once a week with Mrs. Sun for chemistry. She has been extremely helpful. During chemistry class at school, we often move through the curriculum very fast, as the IB program is very rigorous. As a result, I often get confused about concepts when we move too fast in class. However, Mrs. Sun does an excellent job by breaking down the components of everything we learn, slowing down the pace, and explaining things in different ways to allow me to completely understand. Furthermore, my knowledge is solidified by going through practice problems with Mrs. Sun, immediately after learning new concepts. She makes sure that I understand everything we have gone through during our session, before I leave. Mrs. Sun is a very open-minded teacher, who is able to adapt to the different learning needs, of different students. Mrs. Sun also provides extra resources that can be used to prepare for exams, such as past exam papers and notes, ensuring that her students are well prepared. She does not plan out what we learn each class, she teaches based on my needs, which is perfect. Any struggles I have with Chemistry, I can bring it to her that week and she will help me not only understand the concepts, but to be able to apply them in exam-like questions.
I have also been attending Mr. Wang for extra help with Math, since the beginning of Grade 11 as well. Mr. Wang is a teacher that is also able at modifying his teaching methods, based on the needs of students. Mr. Wang also breaks down concepts slowly, explaining them in pieces, and then placing all the pieces together to explain the main idea. Occasionally Mr. Wang teaches beyond the curriculum that will help solidify my knowledge as well. He knows when to spend extra time on certain concepts, and when we can move fast, thereby, maximizing the efficiency of our study time together. For example, when I was limited with time when preparing for my final mock exams, he was able to adapt to my needs and got me to understand the main concepts of every single chapter in the textbook, in one 2-hour session! Mr. Wang always ensures that I understand the concepts which we go over in class. He always provides extra resources that can be used to prepare for exams.

首先，我非常感谢孙老师和王老师对我学习上给予的帮助，上个学期的时候，我的化学12拿的分数很低，面对申请大学的压力。遇到孙老师后，我逐渐改变了对化学的看法和学习态度。之前，对化学怀有抵触心理是因为在学校上课我完全无法理解老师的教学风格和方法。所以，开始和孙老师学习以后，老师会从最基本的概念入手，一点一点教会我方法。老师经常说不要背题目，要理解，渐渐的我做题的时候会结合所有所学的知识找到合理的解题方式。三个多月下来，我对化学产生了浓厚的兴趣，不再像刚开始的时候充满了恐惧。从57分到87分，整整提高了30分，这三十分和孙老师的辛勤付出是密不可分的，所以我很感谢自己遇到了这么好的老师。还有一个多月高中就要毕业了，我也会在接下来的时间努力和王老师学习微积分，用好的成绩回报老师的付出。最后再次向王老师和孙老师表达感谢。

My son, Justin, had his Math 12 (Pre-calculus) in summer school this year. He was working hard in class but really struggled with the course. He found the pace of the course a lot of work before the midterm and didn't do well in his midterm. He did need extra help at that point. After the midterm, we hired Mr. Wang as his math tutor. Mr. Wang, an experienced tutor, put him at ease in the math world and had him doing advanced mathematics through simple, intuitive techniques. Justin had significant improvement in his final exam mark and finished this challenging course with a big smile.

It is a sad fact that chemistry 12 is one of the most frighteningly difficult and intellectually-demanding course that I took in high school. Initially, my grades plummeted along with my hopes of pursuing science. I dreaded chemistry to the point where I even had nightmares of it every night (yes this may sound silly but it’s true). My last-ditch attempt at saving myself involved googling for a chemistry tutor and that was how I came across Ms. Sun. A patient and experienced tutor, Ms Sun was able to accurately pin point areas that caused me confusion and found many ways of explaining concepts until understood them. It thanks to Ms Sun that I had developed reasoning skills that prove to be an invaluable asset. It is also thanks to Ms. Sun that I have been offered admission into UBC’s Bachelor of Science Program. Being a student of both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun for 5 years now, I would recommend these two amazing tutors to anybody. Apart from solidifying my fundamentals and schoolwork, they also taught me further: giving me lectures of advanced theories and concepts beyond the high school curriculum.
With Mr. Wang, I came to him for assistance in math and physics. He is an extremely fun and intelligent individual, turning what could’ve been an arduous two hours of class into a very lively and humorous yet well-educated lesson. The lack of homework he assigns at first was a downside for me, as I had nobody to push me forward and fully learn the assignment. However as I matured, I realized that I could not depend on another person to further my education, my academic progress heavily depended on the efforts I put in as well. Therefore I would like to thank Mr. Wang for teaching me this lesson.
As I entered the IB Diploma programme, I took on Chemistry HL. Chemistry was a completely foreign subject to me, I had never taken it before and I had little experience in the field. When I first started the subject, I put minimal effort in and fell behind very quickly. However coming to Ms. Sun completely changed my attitude. The more she taught me, the more I liked the subject. The transformation was incredible, I turned from the below average chemistry student to one of the top in my class. However it hasn’t stopped there, my admiration for the field of chemistry has grown to a point where I would like to pursue it in the future at university. Therefore I sincerely give my thanks and gratitude to Ms. Sun, who has opened up my future path for me.
My final words to describe Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun: These two teachers have been more than just academic help to me. They have given me advice, told me about opportunities and as I have mentioned above, started me on the next chapter of my life. These two amazing individuals are more than just average tutors for me. At this point I consider them more as parents because of the way they have taught me, treated me and listened to me. I took SAT Math II and IB Math HL under Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang is a very versatile math tutor. He often uses different analogies to help explain certain concepts. Every math class is fun and entertaining, yet still very resourceful. Even with the fact that I lack the basics of Physics, Mr. Wang still manages to explain difficult math concepts such as Vectors and help me understand the concepts. Additionally, Mr. Wang is also very willing in sacrificing some of his own time in helping his students, especially the classes right before exams. He is able to give useful resources, not matter the difficulty of the class you take in school. Mr. Wang is able to give up-to-date information and many resourceful ways, due to his experiences in certain test subjects such as SATs and Math, that enables his students to tackle the exams with preparation and excel in the exams and tests. Each class I was able to learn something new and expand my knowledge in complex concepts. Under Mr. Wang, I was able to enjoy learning as well as excel my math class and SATs exams.

I took SATs Chemistry under Ms. Sun. Ms. Sun gives detailed explanation for difficult chemistry concepts. She also provided an abundant of resources in preparation for the big exam. Ms. Sun follows a vigorous schedule and always reviews chapters and concepts recently covered. I was able to cover much of the material in a relatively short time and have a firm grasp on the major concepts. All of her teachings and materials also helped understand the more difficult materials in IB Chemistry. As a student of both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun for 2 years, I can confidently say that both are great teachers. At first I simply hoped that they would help me achieve better grades on individual tests, focusing each lesson on a single topic. However as I continued taking lessons, I began to realize there was more to learning than simply getting higher grades. With them, I learned not only the course material, but also the right attitude required for recognizing that depth of knowledge is just as important as breadth. Their teaching style is very flexible, and both are very open to all sorts of questions regarding the material. Thanks to Mr. Wang, I was more than confident going into my math and physics exams. My first tutoring sessions prepared me for my IB Math finals and SAT Math, which are intimidating exams. Mr. Wang managed to pinpoint all my weaknesses and thoroughly explain anything I was unsure about. He is incredibly familiar with the BC curriculum as well as the topics covered in IB and SAT tests. While prepping for SAT tests, Mr. Wang patiently taught me concepts that were n’t covered in school. I learned test-writing tips and techniques that helped my individual needs.
Tutoring sessions with Mr. Wang were surprisingly not stressful. He is so patient and dedicated to helping me understand the work that I was n’t at all scared or embarrassed to constantly ask questions. Ever since the beginning of Grade 11, I have been attending tutoring sessions once a week with Mrs. Sun for chemistry. She has been extremely helpful. During chemistry class at school, we often move through the curriculum very fast, as the IB program is very rigorous. As a result, I often get confused about concepts when we move too fast in class. However, Mrs. Sun does an excellent job by breaking down the components of everything we learn, slowing down the pace, and explaining things in different ways to allow me to completely understand. Furthermore, my knowledge is solidified by going through practice problems with Mrs. Sun, immediately after learning new concepts. She makes sure that I understand everything we have gone through during our session, before I leave. Mrs. Sun is a very open-minded teacher, who is able to adapt to the different learning needs, of different students. Mrs. Sun also provides extra resources that can be used to prepare for exams, such as past exam papers and notes, ensuring that her students are well prepared. She does not plan out what we learn each class, she teaches based on my needs, which is perfect. Any struggles I have with Chemistry, I can bring it to her that week and she will help me not only understand the concepts, but to be able to apply them in exam-like questions.
I have also been attending Mr. Wang for extra help with Math, since the beginning of Grade 11 as well. Mr. Wang is a teacher that is also able at modifying his teaching methods, based on the needs of students. Mr. Wang also breaks down concepts slowly, explaining them in pieces, and then placing all the pieces together to explain the main idea. Occasionally Mr. Wang teaches beyond the curriculum that will help solidify my knowledge as well. He knows when to spend extra time on certain concepts, and when we can move fast, thereby, maximizing the efficiency of our study time together. For example, when I was limited with time when preparing for my final mock exams, he was able to adapt to my needs and got me to understand the main concepts of every single chapter in the textbook, in one 2-hour session! Mr. Wang always ensures that I understand the concepts which we go over in class. He always provides extra resources that can be used to prepare for exams.

我是Hanna的家长，提笔之前首先我代表全家向两位老师表示衷心的感谢。Hanna的化学成绩已经出来了，由原来的及格到现在的A，可谓在这短短的三个月来是一个质的飞跃。
今年二月，由于孩子的化学成绩不理想，导致申请大学受阻，前面孩子在别处补了近一年，但收效甚微，我们和孩子都非常着急。经朋友Jenny介绍让孩子抱着试试的心理前往孙老师处进行补习，几堂课下来，孩子便增添了信心。孙老师并不是就题解题，首先是帮助孩子把概念和原理梳理清楚，然后再循序渐进的步入到不同的题目里，在后面的每一次考试里孩子都拿到高分，这时，孩子告诉我，原来化学并没有那么难，此时我们做家长的心总算是轻松了许多。与此同时，孩子的微积分也在不停地进步。

首先，我非常感谢孙老师和王老师对我学习上给予的帮助，上个学期的时候，我的化学12拿的分数很低，面对申请大学的压力。遇到孙老师后，我逐渐改变了对化学的看法和学习态度。之前，对化学怀有抵触心理是因为在学校上课我完全无法理解老师的教学风格和方法。所以，开始和孙老师学习以后，老师会从最基本的概念入手，一点一点教会我方法。老师经常说不要背题目，要理解，渐渐的我做题的时候会结合所有所学的知识找到合理的解题方式。三个多月下来，我对化学产生了浓厚的兴趣，不再像刚开始的时候充满了恐惧。从57分到87分，整整提高了30分，这三十分和孙老师的辛勤付出是密不可分的，所以我很感谢自己遇到了这么好的老师。还有一个多月高中就要毕业了，我也会在接下来的时间努力和王老师学习微积分，用好的成绩回报老师的付出。最后再次向王老师和孙老师表达感谢。

My son, Justin, had his Math 12 (Pre-calculus) in summer school this year. He was working hard in class but really struggled with the course. He found the pace of the course a lot of work before the midterm and didn't do well in his midterm. He did need extra help at that point. After the midterm, we hired Mr. Wang as his math tutor. Mr. Wang, an experienced tutor, put him at ease in the math world and had him doing advanced mathematics through simple, intuitive techniques. Justin had significant improvement in his final exam mark and finished this challenging course with a big smile.

It is a sad fact that chemistry 12 is one of the most frighteningly difficult and intellectually-demanding course that I took in high school. Initially, my grades plummeted along with my hopes of pursuing science. I dreaded chemistry to the point where I even had nightmares of it every night (yes this may sound silly but it’s true). My last-ditch attempt at saving myself involved googling for a chemistry tutor and that was how I came across Ms. Sun. A patient and experienced tutor, Ms Sun was able to accurately pin point areas that caused me confusion and found many ways of explaining concepts until understood them. It thanks to Ms Sun that I had developed reasoning skills that prove to be an invaluable asset. It is also thanks to Ms. Sun that I have been offered admission into UBC’s Bachelor of Science Program. To those who are looking for a chemistry tutor, I highly recommend hiring Ms. Sun.

Being a student of both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun for 5 years now, I would recommend these two amazing tutors to anybody. Apart from solidifying my fundamentals and schoolwork, they also taught me further: giving me lectures of advanced theories and concepts beyond the high school curriculum.
With Mr. Wang, I came to him for assistance in math and physics. He is an extremely fun and intelligent individual, turning what could’ve been an arduous two hours of class into a very lively and humorous yet well-educated lesson. The lack of homework he assigns at first was a downside for me, as I had nobody to push me forward and fully learn the assignment. However as I matured, I realized that I could not depend on another person to further my education, my academic progress heavily depended on the efforts I put in as well. Therefore I would like to thank Mr. Wang for teaching me this lesson.
As I entered the IB Diploma programme, I took on Chemistry HL. Chemistry was a completely foreign subject to me, I had never taken it before and I had little experience in the field. When I first started the subject, I put minimal effort in and fell behind very quickly. However coming to Ms. Sun completely changed my attitude. The more she taught me, the more I liked the subject. The transformation was incredible, I turned from the below average chemistry student to one of the top in my class. However it hasn’t stopped there, my admiration for the field of chemistry has grown to a point where I would like to pursue it in the future at university. Therefore I sincerely give my thanks and gratitude to Ms. Sun, who has opened up my future path for me.
My final words to describe Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun: These two teachers have been more than just academic help to me. They have given me advice, told me about opportunities and as I have mentioned above, started me on the next chapter of my life. These two amazing individuals are more than just average tutors for me. At this point I consider them more as parents because of the way they have taught me, treated me and listened to me. Benjamin自九年級開始和王老師上數學，我就從未操心過，Benjamin的數學一直保持不錯的成績，到十二年級申請大學時的數學IB成績更是拿到了七級的高分。至於化學，Benjamin十一年級一開始，覺得自己可以應付，到聖誕節假期的成績單下來並不理想，我們求教於孫老師，在孫老師細心指導之下，Benjamin漸入佳境，成為班上化學強手，使Benjamin申請大學時，得以獲得UBC,Toronto,Waterloo,SFU等等的入學許可及獎學金。

I took SAT Math II and IB Math HL under Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang is a very versatile math tutor. He often uses different analogies to help explain certain concepts. Every math class is fun and entertaining, yet still very resourceful. Even with the fact that I lack the basics of Physics, Mr. Wang still manages to explain difficult math concepts such as Vectors and help me understand the concepts. Additionally, Mr. Wang is also very willing in sacrificing some of his own time in helping his students, especially the classes right before exams. He is able to give useful resources, not matter the difficulty of the class you take in school. Mr. Wang is able to give up-to-date information and many resourceful ways, due to his experiences in certain test subjects such as SATs and Math, that enables his students to tackle the exams with preparation and excel in the exams and tests. Each class I was able to learn something new and expand my knowledge in complex concepts. Under Mr. Wang, I was able to enjoy learning as well as excel my math class and SATs exams.

I took SATs Chemistry under Ms. Sun. Ms. Sun gives detailed explanation for difficult chemistry concepts. She also provided an abundant of resources in preparation for the big exam. Ms. Sun follows a vigorous schedule and always reviews chapters and concepts recently covered. I was able to cover much of the material in a relatively short time and have a firm grasp on the major concepts. All of her teachings and materials also helped understand the more difficult materials in IB Chemistry. Ms. Sun is able to set a good foundation for me, which I was able to build as the materials got harder and harder, and prepared me well for the SAT Chemistry test.

As a student of both Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun for 2 years, I can confidently say that both are great teachers. At first I simply hoped that they would help me achieve better grades on individual tests, focusing each lesson on a single topic. However as I continued taking lessons, I began to realize there was more to learning than simply getting higher grades. With them, I learned not only the course material, but also the right attitude required for recognizing that depth of knowledge is just as important as breadth. Their teaching style is very flexible, and both are very open to all sorts of questions regarding the material.
